Vanessa Ugarte owns Hostel Virrey and is one of the youngest proprietors known in Cusco. With her young mind and fresh spirit, she recently renovated the hostel into a friendly hostel with a professional service. The two suites are especially amazing. Both are very spacious rooms and have a balcony overlooking Cusco's Plaza de Armas; an advantage no other hotel can offer you in Cusco.
El Virrey has already existed for more than 30 years in Cusco and has always been owned by the Ugarte family. The name "El Virrey" comes from the word "Viceroy" and this speaks back to the history shortly after the Spanish conquest when the head of the Peruvian Vice-royalty (El Virrey) was founded. In the name of the Spanish Monarch, this Virrey administered the province, or vice-royalty, of Cusco.
