Huchoy Qosqo Trek and Machupicchu

Duration: 3 day(s) - Location: Sacred Valley, Huchoy Qosqo and Machupicchu

This lesser visited path is deemed the most spectacular short trek in the Cusco region and is an ideal way to see the Sacred Valley on the way to the famous Machu Picchu. Llamas will accompany the tour to carry the load while travelers have the opportunity to witness the unique culture and way of life that exists in the Peruvian highlands.

The trip will commence at Patabamba where the llamas will be ready and waiting to begin the walk through the high altiplano, crossing through a region that has seemingly been untouched by the modern day. Guests can see the way llamas herders live and go about their day in traditional dress while passing over stunning lakes like Qoricocha. The first day will come to a close at Huchoy Qosqo, where the campsite is located.

On the second morning, there will be a tour of Huchoy Qosqo before continuing the trek to the quaint village of Chinchero. In this town there will be a demonstration of traditional weaving practices and lunch will be served. Then, the group will be transported to the train station where travelers will board the Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu town). Once reaching Aguas Calientes, guests will walk to their hotel and have a good night's rest.

On the final day, there will be an early rise to have a guided tour of the Machu Picchu Sanctuary, after which guests will have some free time to explore on their own. In the afternoon guests will take the bus back down the mountain to Aguas Calientes for a lovely lunch. Then, everyone will board the train and return to Cusco. There will be a transfer from the train station back to the guests' hotels.
