Tour details
The guests will be picked-up from their hotels.
Lares Trek to Machu Picchu
This is the less frequented and more remote way to reach the famous lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu. Participants will transverse the Sacred Valley highlands along the Lares Track and witness first-hand the way of life of the Andean people that tend the land in much the same fashion as their Incan ancestors. The alpacas and llamas roam green fields beneath the enormous snow-capped peaks of the Andes.
The tour will begin in Cusco with transport to the trailhead in Quisuarani to begin the hike to the first mountain pass. The first night the group will camp in Cuncani. The second day of the hike we will see many beautiful lakes and the flat area around Maras. The tour will camp in Cuyoc beside a forest. The third day we will be spent moving along the Pumahuanca Valley and crossing the Pacchaspata community and the ruins located there. The travellers will then be picked-up by the transport and taken to Ollantaytambo, where the group will catch the afternoon Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes to spend the night in a hostel. The fourth day will consist of an early wake-up call to get on the bus up the mountain to Machu Picchu. There will be a guided tour of the Machu Picchu Sanctuary with some extra time to explore the site by yourself.
